Two Michigan Firefighters Fall Through Floor

Two firefighters battling a blaze in Kentwood fell through the first floor into the basement of a burning home.
Two firefighters battling a blaze in Kentwood fell through the first floor into the basement of a burning home this morning, according to WZZM-TV.

A mayday call was issued after the floor collapsed and the firefighters were able to get out with only minor injuries. One of the firefighters was transported to a local hospital for a sprained ankle.

Crews responded to the fire in the 4200 block of Arlet Court Court S.E. at approximately 12:30 a.m. and took just under an hour to put it out.

The two-story home in a new subdivision was vacant at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
