Burning Roof Collapses on Florida Firefighter
A Charlotte County firefighter was injured in a roof collapse while battling a blaze last night, according to The News-Press.
Crews responded to the fire at the single-story home at 246 East Tarpon Blvd. in Port Charlotte at approximately 11:45 p.m. and found flames showing through the roof.
Three civilians were in the home at the time of the fire, but made it out safely.
The injured firefighter was transported to Fawcett Memorial Hospital in stable condition and has since been released.
Crews were able to get the fire under control within 15 minutes.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
