Crews responded to the fire in the Washington Park community shortly after 1 a.m. when the temperature was in the low teens. The house was only two doors away from Station 16, which allowed for a quick response.
It took firefighters two minutes to enter the home after a bystander told them there was a chance people were still inside.
The fire blocked the mother and her two daughters, ages 10 and 15, from escaping the blaze, according to the report.
"The front of the structure was on fire. I believe the back door was partially obstructed as well," Capt. Chip Newell told the news station. "We were forced to go through the front door and made a rapid interior aggressive attack because we knew we had an entrapment."
The mother was found semi-conscious and her two daughters were unconscious after all three were overcome by smoke inhalation.
"We made our way toward the back where we heard someone calling out to us," Firefighter Pablo Ghersi told the news station. He said they heard a fait voice saying:"Help me!"
The three victims were in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.
