A civilian driver did not yield to a responding Detroit fire truck last night, causing a collision on the city's west side, according to WXYZ-TV.
The incident occurred at the corner of Wyoming and West Chicago and an investigation is currently underway.
The civilian was stopped at a red light and when it turned green he started to go, but says he did not hear the sirens and collided with the apparatus.
The driver was only slightly injured and is expected to be OK.
A witness told the news station that he heard the sirens loud and clear and is just glad the driver wasn't more seriously injured.
The call the crew was responding to turned out to be a false alarm.
