A teenage Stafford Township volunteer firefighter was charged with setting a forest fire last week, according to The Star-Ledger.

Firefighter Ryan Dellane was charged on Aug. 17 with one count of aggravated arson and was released after posting a $50,000 bail.

Dellane is accused of intentionally setting a forest fire on Aug. 13 in Bass River Township that consumed close to four acres.

Investigators are still trying to determine whether he is linked to other suspicious blazes, according to the report.

A multijurisdictional task force has been formed to investigate a number of suspicious fires that have occurred in southern Ocean County since the summer of 2008.
