N.C. Firefighters Charged With Arson

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. -- Two volunteer firefighters at the Pilot Fire Department were charged with setting a fire at a building on Lower Lake Road early Monday morning. Deputies said investigators with the Sheriff's Department and the SBI arson unit discovered that the fire, which was reported at about 2:45 a.m., was intentionally started. As a result, Benjamin Dean Wagner, 19, and Christopher Lee Burnett, 19, both of Thomasville, were charged with burning a building, a felony.

Deputies said investigators with the Sheriff's Department and the SBI arson unit discovered that the fire, which was reported at about 2:45 a.m., was intentionally started.

As a result, Benjamin Dean Wagner, 19, and Christopher Lee Burnett, 19, both of Thomasville, were charged with burning a building, a felony.

Both were being held in the Davidson County Jail on a $3,000 bond.
