Md. Firefighter Breaks Leg While Connecting Hose

A Montgomery County firefighter broke his leg last night while attempting to hook up a fire hose to a hydrant while battling a fire.

A Montgomery County firefighter broke his leg last night while attempting to hook up a fire hose to a hydrant while battling a fire, according to The Washington Post.

The firefighter became entangled while hooking up the hose at the scene of a fire at a high-rise building in the 8600 block of 2nd Avenue at approximately 7:30 p.m., Capt. Oscar Garcia told the newspaper.

The firefighter was transported to the hospital while crews quickly extinguished a small electrical fire on the fourth floor of the building.
