A Hamilton firefighter was recovering after being injured while fighting a fire Tuesday night.
The Hamilton Fire Department said the firefighter was working to put out the blaze at a home on Hensel Place when he suffered a wound to his hand. The firefighter taken to a hospital for treatment and later released.
The house where the fire occurred was recently boarded up and crews think squatters were using it to stay warm. Witnesses also said they saw two men outside the home right before the flames broke out.
The fire caused about $50,000 in damage to the building.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, but investigators said it appeared suspicious.
