A former Port Orange firefighter who stole prescription medications from homes he was responding to will not go to prison.
Michael Michaud, 38, was arrested in May after investigators said they found more than 12,000 pills prescribed to others in Michaud's home.
Michaud pleaded no contest to a host of charges in October.

A former Port Orange firefighter who stole prescription medications from homes he was responding to will not go to prison.
Michael Michaud, 38, was arrested in May after investigators said they found more than 12,000 pills prescribed to others in Michaud's home.
Michaud pleaded no contest to a host of charges in October.
Prosecutors asked for just over 5 years of probation, which is the minimum under sentencing guidelines. The judge decided to sentence Michaud to 15 years of probation.
