LAS VEGAS --
The bodies of two children were found in a burned single-wide modular home late Monday morning near Temple Bar Marina, located on the Arizona side of Lake Mead, the National Park Service said.
A fire was reported at the modular home about 11 a.m. Monday. The home is located in the employee housing area inside the national recreation area.
The home was fully engulfed in flames when park service volunteer firefighters and park rangers arrived, the park service said.
Clark County fire investigators are assisting the park service in investigating the cause of the fire. No other structures were affected and no other injuries were reported, the park service said.
The identities of the children are being withheld pending completion of the preliminary investigation. Their bodies have been turned over to the Mohave County Medical Examiner.
“This is a sad day for Lake Mead National Recreation Area,” said Superintendent Bill Dickinson. “We stand behind our friends at Forever Resorts and we share in their loss.”
