Three S.C. Firefighters Burned in Blaze
Three North Charleston firefighters were hospitalized after being burned while battling a blaze yesterday afternoon, according to The Charleston Post and Courier.
The most seriously injured firefighter was transferred to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Ga., while the other two were treated and released from the Medical University of South Carolina.
The fire was reported at approximately 1:42 p.m. at a residence on Purity Court and crews had the blaze under control at 2:54 p.m.
Department spokesman Bianca Sancic told the newspaper that any explanation of how the three were injured would have to wait until an investigation could take place.
Sancic said the injuries suffered by the firefighter sent to the burn center are not life-threatening.
