"Some of us have two left feet; I'll be the first to admit that. We really need this truck. So, if we got to act funny to get it, we'll act funny," Deputy Fire Chief Jason Maynard told KFOR-TV.

The department recently lost their tanker truck, which is the reason they are vying for the $170,000 truck.

"We've been running constantly. We've had two structure fires, tank battery fire, meth lab fire where a man burned," Deputy Chief Jason Maynard KFOR-TV.

They are currently one of seven finalists remaining in the contest. Whichever fire department gets the most votes by Aug. 27 will be claimed the winner.

"It's gonna help increase our ISO rating, which helps lower insurance for everyone in the town, increase our response time, and give us better apparatus to work with," Firefighter Chris Bridges told KOTV.
