A fuel tanker and a dump truck collided on Route 9W in Esopus this morning, igniting a three-alarm fire, according to The Times-Herald Record.
The fire, which was sparked by the collision just before 8:30 a.m., also destroyed a warehouse that stores signs.
Firefighters are currently working to absorb the gasoline that leaked onto the roadway.
The crash occurred when a dump truck that was hauling a trailer with heavy equipment was making a left turn and a Botini fuel tanker that was behind it could not stop and rear-ended the truck, igniting both vehicles.
The fuel tanker was carrying about 3,000 gallons of gasoline, most of which was burned in the blaze, officials told the newspaper.
Responders from the Air National Guard at Stewart International Airport sprayed foam onto the fire and leaking gasoline.
Both drivers suffered burns that were not life threatening and were transported to St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
