A Lakeside Fire District firefighter fell through a floor at a burning house last night in Lysander, according to The Post-Standard.

Lt. Jonathan Dantano was in a second-floor room of a structure at 3101 Patchett Road when a weak spot in the floor gave way, Chief Timothy Wolsey told the newspaper.

Dantano fell through to his wait before getting tangled up in wires that kept him from falling all the way through. Wolsey said the lieutenant was a bit sore following the incident, but was otherwise OK.

He was examined at the scene and was not transported to the hospital treatment.

Crews responded to the blaze shortly before 7 p.m. and found heavy smoke and flames in the rear of the home upon arrival.
