Woman, Infant Rescued From Pa. Fire

CANONSBURG, Pa. -- Firefighters in Washington County rescued a woman and a baby trapped in a fire on Saturday night. Investigators said a man cooking on a stove caused a fire at 215 E. College St. in Canonsburg. Officials said firefighters rescued the woman and her 7-month-old girl when heavy smoke stopped them from safely evacuating down stairs on their own. The mother and her daughter were taken to a hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters in Washington County rescued a woman and a baby trapped in a fire on Saturday night.

Investigators said a man cooking on a stove caused a fire at 215 E. College St. in Canonsburg.

Officials said firefighters rescued the woman and her 7-month-old girl when heavy smoke stopped them from safely evacuating down stairs on their own.

The mother and her daughter were taken to a hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
