New Orleans Crews Battle 6-Alarmer

NEW ORLEANS -- Officials with the New Orleans Fire Department said a six-alarm fire broke out in the city Saturday morning. It happened near the intersection of Barronne and Lafayette streets. Smoke could be seen billowing in the sky early Saturday. The NOFD said it doesn't know the cause of the fire. Investigators said the building was unoccupied and had no utilities.

Officials with the New Orleans Fire Department said a six-alarm fire broke out in the city Saturday morning.

It happened near the intersection of Barronne and Lafayette streets.

Smoke could be seen billowing in the sky early Saturday.

The NOFD said it doesn't know the cause of the fire. Investigators said the building was unoccupied and had no utilities.

The area was blocked off so about 100 firefighters could manage the blaze.
