Atlanta Dept. Gets PETA Award for Dog Rescue
The City of Atlanta Department of Fire Rescue will receive a Compassionate Fire Department Award from PETA.
On Monday, firefighters responded to a fire that broke out at the Four Seasons apartment complex.
According to reports, crews spent more than an hour attempting to rescue a dog that was left inside one of the apartments. Two firefighters safely removed the female dog from the building.
"The compassion and heroism shown by the Atlanta Fire Department is an inspiration," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "Atlanta is very fortunate to have first responders who are ready to protect and serve both residents and their beloved animal companions."
