A Hays firefighter was intentionally hit by an oncoming driver while directing traffic last night, according to The Hays Daily News.

The firefighter was diverting traffic at 17th and Ash away from downed power lines caused by a storm when a driver upset by the slow moving traffic began arguing with him.

The driver, 66-year-old Glen A. Teel, then drove his vehicle into the firefighter, Hays Police Lt. Don Scheibler told the newspaper.

The firefighter was not injured in the incident and Teel was arrested and later released on his own recognizance.
