JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. --

Pennsylvania State Police said a volunteer firefighter has confessed to four arsons throughout Mercer County during a two-week span.

Christopher Michael Grant, 19, of Jackson Center, set the fires on Franklin Road in Jackson Township from May 2-15, police said.

Grant is a firefighter with the Jackson Center Volunteer Fire Department.

Police said three of the fires caused damages in excess of $5,000 each.

Grant's targets included a garage, a Dairy Queen storage shed, a building and a trash dump, police said.

Grant's bail was set at $40,000 -- $10,000 for each fire -- and he has been taken to the Mercer County Jail.
