CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. --

A South Florida man was left bloodied and bruised after he was caught in the act peeping at a pregnant woman, according to police.

Firefighter Eric Fajkis said he believes Kenneth Parkerson has been tormenting his family for the last three months.

"We knew for a couple months, at least since February, that we had a peeping Tom," said Dorothy Fajkis, Eric Fajkis' wife.

Dorothy Fajkis said she knew she was not imagining the quiet footsteps and strange shadows outside her house.

"That's very stressful because you're, like, in prison in your own house," she said.

She is eight months pregnant, and she tried to stay calm Tuesday night when she realized the man who has been watching her was on her enclosed back patio.

"It was a windy day, and I think the guy came in on the patio, left the door open, and the wind just slammed it closed," Dorothy Fajkis said. "So immediately, my husband ran to the front door and I went to call the police."

Eric Fajkis went outside and caught Parkerson, tackling him and struggling with him until police came.

"Actually, I punched him and took him to the ground," Eric Fajkis said.

When officers arrived, Fajkis showed them a video camera Parkerson had been holding and told them that Parkerson had tried to smash the camera on the ground, police said.

Parkerson was arrested and taken to Coral Springs Medical Center for treatment before being transferred to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Parkerson lives about a mile away from the Fajkis family, but both of their homes back up to a canal and there is a direct path between him. Although Parkerson lives with his father, a retired FBI agent, his girlfriend answered the door at their home Thursday, and she did not want to talk.

For the first time in months, Dorothy Fajkis said she can concentrate on her new baby without wondering if someone is watching her family.

"We can enjoy our stay here again and have a good night's sleep and hopefully he's not coming back," Eric Fajkis said.

Parkerson faces charges of video voyeurism, among others, and is being held on $11,100 bond.

Parkerson is being held without bond because he was already out of jail on bond after he was arrested by the Broward Sheriff's Office in December and charged with prowling. In fact, Coral Springs police arrested him four years ago on a video voyeurism charge, but that case was dropped.
