The bear was first spotted in the parking lot of a fire station on Vineyard Avenue just after 2 a.m. and eventually climbed a cemetery wall leading him 25 feet up the tree.

Fish and Game officials worked with the firefighters to remove the bear using harnesses and a ladder truck, according to the report.

At approximately 9 a.m., they carefully lifted the bear out of the tree.

The bear is expected to be released in Los Padres National Forest.
