    Ky. Firefighter Rescued During Training

    A veteran firefighter needed to be rescued during a swift water training exercise yesterday afternoon, according to WSAZ-TV. The incident occurred at the Yatesville Lake in Louisa, where the Northeastern Kentucky Fire School held the training. Mark Hammond, the Regional Training Coordinator for the Kentucky Fire Commission, told the news station that the firefighter was sucked under the water at approximately 1:30 p.m. and had to be rescued.

    Mark Hammond, the Regional Training Coordinator for the Kentucky Fire Commission, told the news station that the firefighter was sucked under the water at approximately 1:30 p.m. and had to be rescued.

    The firefighter went into cardiac arrest and was revived after about five minutes.

    He was transported to the hospital and was reportedly sitting up and talking by the time he arrived and is expect to be fine.

    The investigation is ongoing, and the firefighter's name is not being released at this time.
