Ariz. Fire Truck Crash Hurts Civilians

A woman and two children were injured with a Glendale fire truck and a car collided yesterday (Jan. 14), according to KNXV-TV.

Fire spokesman Daniel Valenzuela told the news station that crews were responding to a call when the incident occurred at 67th and Glendale avenues at approximately 5:30 p.m.

The fire truck had its lights and siren activated and was stopped at the intersection. After the traffic stopped and the fire truck continued on its way to the call, the collision occurred.

Following the collision, the firefighters exited the truck and assisted the injured civilians.

Glendale police spokesperson Karen Gerardo said the fire truck was headed to a call with its lights and siren activated and stopped in the intersection to make sure it was clear.

There were no injuries to the firefighters.
