Driver Misses Ohio Fire Truck Before Hitting Utility Pole, Pedestrian

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP -- Two people were injured in a crash Monday morning in Anderson Township. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Department said 24-year-old Jody Schul failed to yield to a fire truck that was turning at Five Mile Road and Woodcroft Drive. Investigators said Schul swerved to avoid the truck and lost control. Schul's car struck a utility pole and a pedestrian -- Kristin Flynn, 25 -- who was waiting at a Metro bus stop.

Two people were injured in a crash Monday morning in Anderson Township.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Department said 24-year-old Jody Schul failed to yield to a fire truck that was turning at Five Mile Road and Woodcroft Drive. Investigators said Schul swerved to avoid the truck and lost control.

Schul's car struck a utility pole and a pedestrian -- Kristin Flynn, 25 -- who was waiting at a Metro bus stop.

Flynn was taken to Anderson Mercy Hospital with minor injuries. Schul was also taken to Anderson Mercy Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Schul was cited for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
