An Omaha Fire Department captain was killed in a traffic accident along Interstate 80. The York County Sheriff's department said a second person, Adam Hansen of Blair, was also killed in the crash.
A news release from the fire department said Captain Roger Kruger, 53, was killed Wednesday evening in the crash near York, Neb. Fire Apparatus Engineer Kevin Edwards, 48, was also injured in the accident. Both men are 11-year veterans of OFD. Both firefighters were off duty at the time.
