An unoccupied Palm Beach fire engine rolled away from a fire station and into a busy road before slamming into the wall surrounding a nearby property on Nov. 25, according to the Palm Beach Daily News.

The department plans to have its master mechanic check the apparatus for possible mechanical failure.

"The vehicle is operable, we are able to use it, but we want to make sure there was no mechanical failure," Fire-Rescue Chief Bill Amador told the newspaper. "If a human, careless act was done, then disciplinary action would be administered."

The home surrounded by the wall the engine hit belongs to Pittsburgh Steelers homeowner Tim Rooney. There was no reported damage to the wall.
