HONEA PATH, S.C.----
Tony Clark's job requires him to be good with his hands. He has more than 12 years of EMS and rescue experience, has worked as a paramedic for nine and
started working with the Honea Path Rescue Squad back in January. However, on Monday in his hands was a letter, a request to remove his managers from the
job he loves so much. "We would just prefer that the board be taken out and the chief be taken out and let the EMS squad go under the town," he said.
This all started after the rescue squad's credit card documents showed up at the Honea Path Police Department. Someone used the card to scout online dating
websites, restaurants and possible travel services. "Not surprised, not surprised. I've seen some things so I wasn't surprised," Clark said.
Members with the Anderson County EMS Advisory Commission accepted a 30 day voluntary suspension of the squad which the Iva Rescue Squad will now
manage. After the meeting, a crowd of employees and volunteers wanted to make sure they would still have their jobs and the people of Honea Path would still
get service. They were told they would. "It's a positive and I guess as far as our management, I guess we'll see in 30 days," Clark said. Because that decision is
out of his hands. Many of the employees said they wanted the chief and board of directors removed from their positions because they said they believe the chief
and a board member know more about the credit card than they say they're willing to admit.
