Four Killed in Connecticut Fire

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. --   A mother and her three children were killed in an early-morning fire in Bridgeport Friday. Firefighters were called to the P.T. Barnum complex at about 1 a.m. The mother and her children were pulled from the burning building.

A mother and her three children were killed in an early-morning fire in Bridgeport Friday.

Firefighters were called to the P.T. Barnum complex at about 1 a.m.

The mother and her children were pulled from the burning building. Neighbors told Eyewitness News when the family was pulled from the building, they were not breathing.

The children’s grandfather told Eyewitness News that his daughter, Tiana Black, and her three children have lived in the apartment for the past three years.

Black, 23, was studying to be a nurse at Housatonic College.

The children were identified as 5-year-old Nyshon Williams, and 4-year-old twins Tyajsia and Nyajsia Williams.

Workers with the Bridgeport Housing Authority said there were smoke detectors in the building.
