Gaines Tapped for USFA Deputy Director

Gaines takes over the slot vacated last year by Charlie Dickinson.

After leaving Fairfax County, Gaines was a consultant for DHS programs.

The 37-year fire service veteran assumes the duties as acting USFA administrator while the search for a permanent replacement for Greg Cade continues.

Dr. Denis Onieal, superintendent of the National Fire Academy, has been acting administrator since January.
