BOZRAH, Conn. --
A massive fire was reported at a Bozrah egg farm late Thursday night.
The fire was reported at the Moark Farm, a division of Land O' Lakes, on Schwartz Road before midnight, and firefighters from 10 companies battled the flames for about two hours.
Fire officials said the building that burned was being used as storage and was slated to be demolished soon. The building was once a chicken coop, but was housing some pesticide, which fire officials said kept the fire burning.
The aluminum building collapsed and enclosed the fire, officials said.
Tankers were called in because there was no water on site.
The farm's chickens are housed about 300 yards away and none was injured in the fire, which was first noticed by a delivery truck driver.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, but the fire marshal said he doesn't consider the fire to be suspicious.
