S.C. Boy Pulled From Fire Dies

The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office said that a Spartanburg boy was killed in a house fire in Moore on Tuesday night The fire happened at 119 Linville Drive at about 9:30 p.m. Coroner Rusty Clevenger said that 6-year-old Isaiah Jones was staying with relatives at the home at the time of the fire. He said that firefighters were able to pull him and the other family members out of the fire, but Jones did not survive. Investigators said the fire likely started in one of the bedrooms. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.

The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office said that a Spartanburg boy was killed in a house fire in Moore on Tuesday night

The fire happened at 119 Linville Drive at about 9:30 p.m.

Coroner Rusty Clevenger said that 6-year-old Isaiah Jones was staying with relatives at the home at the time of the fire. He said that firefighters were able to pull him and the other family members out of the fire, but Jones did not survive.

Investigators said the fire likely started in one of the bedrooms.

An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.

Jones's family members who were also involved in the fire were being treated at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

This is the seventh fire fatality in Spartanburg County in 2009, Clevenger said.
