Florida Firefighter Facing Child Porn Charges

He has been suspended without pay from the Orange County Fire Department.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. --

An Orange County firefighter is facing charges Wednesday morning for sending porn to an underage girl online.

Lieutenant firefighter John Kornbrust turned himself in to Lake County deputies on Tuesday. He was arrested and bonded out of jail a few hours later.

Kornbrust admitted he thought he was talking to a 14-year-old girl but it was actually an undercover deputy. Investigators say Kornbrust sent several pornographic videos to the deputy during explicit chats.

Eyewitness News contacted the Orange County Fire Department to get more details about Kornbrust. He has been a firefighter for 20 years and has had a clean record with the department.

However, according to its policy, Kornbrust has now been relieved of duty without pay. The fire department will conduct its own investigation into the felony charges against him.
