One firefighter sustained minor burns on his hand and a civilian also received minor burns in a storage facility fire at 6200 Jahnke Road in Richmond, around 5 a.m. on June 2.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital.
Responding were Quints 23, 24, 17, 20, Rescue 3 the Air Light unit, Richmond Ambulance Authority and a battalion chief.
Upon arrival fire was discovered in six units. "A total of 23 units were involved," said Battalion Chief Dave Creasy. "Of that number six had items stored and those were the units with fire."
Extensive overhaul was required. Storage facility fires are extremely dangerous because contents within may not be known.
The cause is under investigation.
