Firefighters Battle Florida Power Plant Blaze

Workers are working to determine when it will be restarted.

ORLANDO, Fla. --

A blaze at a power plant in Orange County kept firefighters busy Friday morning.

A fire shuts down part of the Curtis Stanton Energy Center.

The fire ignited overnight at the Curtis Stanton Energy Center on South Alafaya Trail in Orange County.

Orlando Utilities Commission spokeswoman Erika Hodges said the blaze sparked in some hydraulics and was contained to one unit.

No injuries were reported.

The turbine was shut down, and utility crews are working to determine when it will be restarted.

Hodges said the incident did not affect customers.
