SEATTLE --
Firefighters rescued one man Tuesday morning after his Porsche plunged off Alki Ave. SW into Puget Sound.
The Seattle Police and Fire Departments, along with the Coast Guard responded to the scene in Seattle's Alki neighborhood just after 2 a.m.
Firefighters found a man in his 50s out of the car and on rocks near the shore.
They used a basket to rescue the man.
He was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Divers went into the water to make sure no one else was in the car.
A tow truck pulled the mangled sports car out of the water around 4:15 a.m.
KIRO 7's Rick Price was the first reporter on the scene.
He talked to a witness who says it took rescuers awhile to find the crash because the car flew so far into the water.
The car also took out a light pole.
