3 Ohio Firefighters Injured Battling Blaze

One firefighter suffered heat exhaustion, one suffered a cut to the hand, and the other suffered smoke inhalation.

Three firefighters were injured after battling a blaze in Belmont County late Sunday afternoon.

Dispatchers told NEWS9 fire broke out in the 200 block of Franklin Street in Barnesville around 3 p.m., and they said that three firefighters were taken to the hospital after suffering injuries fighting the flames.

One firefighter suffered heat exhaustion, one suffered a cut to the hand, and the other suffered smoke inhalation -- according to dispatchers.

It's unknown what caused the fire, but there is no word of any other injuries.

Crews were on scene until about 5:30 p.m.
