Nebraska Workers Rescued from Scaffolding

The workers became trapped when their scaffolding failed outside the building near the ninth floor.

OMAHA, Neb. --

Firefighters finished a high-rise rescue of two workers at 11:40 a.m. Friday at the Mutual of Omaha Bank building near 33rd and Farnam streets.

The workers became trapped when their scaffolding failed outside the building near the ninth floor. The rescue unfolded on the building's west side. Neither worker appeared to have suffered any injuries.

Firefighters were able to get cables on the scaffolding and pull the first worker to the building's roof at 11:15 a.m. The second worker was rescued at 11:40 a.m.
