Pennsylvania Fire Displaces Six

SOUTH LEBANON TOWNSHIP, Pa. --

Six people were displaced after fire damaged three homes in South Lebanon Township, Lebanon County.

The blaze started in a vacant trailer just after 1 a.m. in the 600 block of East High Street (see interactive map below), firefighters said.

The fire spread to two adjacent homes, destroying one and heavily damaging another.

The Hebron Fire Chief said it looked like a war zone when he arrived.

But thanks to some prison guards at the nearby Lebanon Correctional Facility no one was seriously hurt.

The guards came over and knocked on doors and some nurses at Cedar Haven nursing home across the street also helped.

Damage is estimated at about $300,000.

The state and county fire marshals are expected at the scene at about 9:30 a.m.
