JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --
A fire-rescue truck headed to a medical emergency Friday morning was struck by a car at the intersection of North Myrtle Avenue and Kings Road..
Jacksonville Fire-Rescue spokesman John Bracey said the fire truck had its lights and siren on about 11:30 a.m. and had stopped before proceeding through the intersection, where it was hit by a car.
The two firefighters in the truck were not injured and got out to help the driver of the car, who had serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
The driver, whose name was not released, was transported to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center.
