Families Homeless after Indy Blaze

Six apartments were damaged.

INDIANAPOLIS --

Several families were left without homes after a blaze ripped through a portion of an apartment complex on Indianapolis' northwest side.

The fire broke out just after 10 p.m. Tuesday at the Eagle Creek apartments in the 8600 block of Rook Road.

Fire investigators said flames were contained to one building, but six apartment units were damaged.

The American Red Cross is assisting those families with basic needs and temporary shelter.

No one was injured. Investigators are not sure what caused the fire.
