FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. --
Firefighters and other officials spent much of Tuesday cleaning up a mess left behind from a truck leaking gas on Interstate 540.
Tuesday morning, a semi truck driving north on I-540 near the West Fork exit ran over some debris that had fallen from another truck's load.
Police said the debris punctured the gas tank, causing gas to leak onto the road and into a nearby drainage ditch.
Fayetteville and West Fork firefighters as well as a hazmat team were all called to the location to soak up the gas.
No one was injured and no other vehicles were involved, officials said.
