Florida Station Reopens After 2-Day Shutdown
MINNEOLA, Fla. --
Some residents and city leaders in Minneola say they're not satisfied with the explanation for why their fire department was shut down for nearly two days.
Minneola's only fire station reopened just before noon Friday. Public records now show the department was closed down while the city investigated a disagreement between firefighters during two medical calls last weekend.
Some homeowners say that explanation isn't good enough.
"A hospital can't shut down for a day because all of its surgeons are arguing with each other," said resident Pat Wilson.
The mayor defended his city manager's decision to shut down the fire department, but at least one other council member wants an independent investigation.
