WILKINSBURG, Pa. --

Three people, including two young boys, suffered burns in a fire Saturday morning at a duplex in Wilkinsburg.

Fire officials said a man in the house dropped the boys, ages 2 and 3, to safety out of a first-floor window.

Emergency responders caught the children as they were thrown outside.

The boys were taken to Children's Hospital and the man went to Mercy Hospital for treatment.

All three victims received burns, the severity of which are unknown at this time.

Two adults who lived in an upstairs unit got out safely.

Fire officials credit working smoke detectors with saving the occupants' lives.

The Allegheny County fire marshal is investigating the blaze which officials said appeared to have been an accident.
