Arson Suspected in Pa. Railroad Tie Fire

Police spotted the early morning fire as 1,000 ties burned.

GLASSPORT, Pa. --

Firefighters spent Friday morning battling a blaze in Glassport, and a fire marshal ruled the flames were set on purpose.

It started around 3:30 a.m. at a pile of railroad ties near Third Street and Oak Street.

Police spotted the fire. They said as many as 1,000 railroad ties burned in the fire.

A firefighter took pictures of the blaze and gave them to Channel 11 news.

No one was hurt fighting the fire.
