Fire officials believe that two house fires in Akron were likely set by an arsonist.

AKRON, Ohio --

Two house fires have prompted a search for a possible arsonist in Akron.

Two fires broke out early Friday morning.

One broke out at 1435 Englewood Street.

While firefighters were setting up to battle that blaze, they smelled smoke from another fire that was about two blocks away.

That fire was located at 52 Detroit Street. Fire officials said the fire started in the middle of the floor and it is believed that an accelerant may have been used.
