Rescuers freed a man from a trench after the partial collapse of a wall caused dirt to pin his legs.

SEATTLE --

A man became trapped in a trench when a wall partially collapsed in Seattle's Magnolia neighborhood Monday afternoon.

The site of the incident was outside a home in the 2400 block of 35th Avenue West.

Both of the man's legs were trapped up to his knees.

Rescuers worked to free the man using a device to suck out excess dirt and then pulled the victim out using ropes at about 2:15 p.m.

The man never lost consciousness and has non-life-threatening injuries, KIRO reported.

Video from Chopper 7 showed a large rescue response of firefighters.
