FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. --

A metro Atlanta letter carrier is shaken up after her mail truck caught fire at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Valerie Coleman was halfway through her mail delivery route in Forsyth County when she noticed a leak under the vehicle.

Shortly thereafter, Coleman said her mail truck burst into flames.

Michael Miles, communications manager for the U.S. Postal Service Atlanta district, said Coleman reacted quickly by grabbing a water hose from a nearby yard.

According to the Forsyth News, the mail truck was carrying property tax bills at the time of the fire.

Miles said the cause of the fire was still under investigation, but that firefighters suspect a transmission malfunction may have contributed.

Coleman was not injured during the ordeal.
