An arrest has been made in the blaze that nearly killed a Prince George's County firefighter in April.

An arrest has been made in the blaze that nearly killed a Prince George's County firefighter in April, according to WJLA-TV.

The station said John Daniel, 58, was arrested Tuesday (Aug. 18) by fire investigators and was released on bond after being taken to the Prince George's County Department of Corrections.

Firefighter Daniel McGown was critically injured in the April 8 incident on Herrington Drive near Largo.

McGown became disoriented while fighting the fire and fell in the home, according to the report.

Fire authorities said he lost his mask in the fall and suffered second-degree burns on his face and ears, first-degree burns on his shoulders and eye injuries from the smoke.
