A Port Huron, Mich. firefighter fell into an empty pool last night (Aug. 18) while battling a blaze, according to The Times Herald.
Firefighter Joseph Jacobs was injured in the incident at a pool house under renovation at 3003 West Village Lane. He was then transported to Port Huron Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Capt. Mark White told the newspaper.
The firefighter has since been released from the hospital.
White said smoke and darkness made it difficult to see while fighting the fire that was reported around 10 p.m.
The fire appears to have started when electrical wires for a ceiling fan caught fire, according to the report.
