Pennsylvania Firefighter Injured in Blaze

A firefighter is injured while fighting flames in an apartment building in Mount Oliver Monday.

MOUNT OLIVER, Pa. --

A firefighter was injured while fighting flames in an apartment building in Mount Oliver Monday.

The fire started in the building located where South 18th Street, Brownsville Road, and Arlington Avenue all intersect shortly after 11 p.m., reports said.

Emergency dispatchers told Channel 4 Action News one firefighter suffered a minor knee injury but stayed to fight the fire and was later treated at the scene.

The Red Cross reported three families were forced out by the fire. They are providing food and shelter for one displaced adult.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
